The New York University men's golf team kicked off its 2025-26 stroke-play schedule at the Duke Nelson Invitational, hosted by Middlebury College at Ralph Myhre Golf Club in Middlebury, VT.
The two-round tournament runs September 13-14.
After the first round of competition, the NYU team sits in 12th place out of 20 teams with a +26 combined score. Babson College leads the Invitational with a +12 team score.
Bryan Zhao led the way for the Violets, shooting a +5 (76). He opened his round with a birdie, but was hampered by five bogies and a costly double bogey to close out the front nine. He sits in 21st place on the individual scoreboard.
Jomyuth Luangtana-anan and
Oscar Uribe were just behind, each turning in a +6 (77) first round. Uribe matched a team-high mark with two birdies. The pair is tied for 32nd overall.
Qi Liu rounded out the Violets' scoring with a +9 (80).
The Violets close out the tournament on Sunday with the final round set to begin at 9:00 a.m.
