The
12th-ranked New York University men's cross country team took ninth place out of 16 teams at the Jasper Fall XC Invitational 8K hosted by Manhattan University in Montgomery, NY, on September 13.
The Violets finished first out of the four Division III universities in attendance and outraced four Division I universities.
Shaurya Srivastava was the top finisher for the Violets, coming in 21st place, recording a time of 25:40.2. Not far behind him was
James Jenkins, who clocked in at 25:53.5 in 28th.
Ten seconds and ten places separated
Brandon Meiner (26:39.3) and
Micah Taffet (26:49.9) who placed 69th and 79th, respectfully.
Samir Hussain finished up the scoring for the Violets, logging a time of 27:00.5 which secured him 88th place.
Additional competitors for NYU were
Trey Davidson (27:04.6) who finished in 94th and
Jordan Levy (27:28.9) who took 114th.
The Violets hit the course next on Friday, October 3, at the Paul Short Invite hosted by Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA.
