Yooni Park Named Women's Volleyball Assistant Coach

2024 Grad Transfer Returns to Violets' Bench

Yooni Park has been hired as an assistant coach of the New York University women's volleyball team. She returns to the team after spending 2024 with the Violets as a graduate transfer.

Following a four-year career at Division I Columbia University, Park played a crucial role for the Violets in her lone season, compiling 696 digs on the year, good for second all-time for digs in a single season in program history.

On September 28, 2024, Park registered 44 digs against Carnegie Mellon University, which set the program record for digs in a single match.

"Yooni Park is a tremendous addition to our coaching staff," said Head Coach Andrew Brown. "Her transition from a member of our team last year to an assistant coach is a testament to her dedication and passion. Yooni's experience at the Division I level with Columbia gives her a unique perspective that will be invaluable for our players. We're thrilled to have her step into this new role."

The Cupertino, CA, native was named Honorable Mention All-University Athletic Association (UAA), both American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) First Team All-Region 4 and Honorable Mention All-American, and NCAA Massachusetts Region All-Tournament Team.

"I am truly beyond excited and grateful for this opportunity," said Park. "This program has given me so much over the past season, and I'm eager to carry forward everything I've learned to help move it one step further. My time as a player has been incredibly rewarding with both coach Brown and Rachel Bello and I couldn't be more excited to return alongside them as a coach to continue pushing the program ahead."

In her four seasons with the Lions, Park appeared in 55 career matches and totaled 142 digs.

Park is currently a master's student at NYU, studying Integrated Marketing in the School of Professional Studies (SPS).
