Four members of the New York University softball team were named to the College Sports Communicators' (CSC) Academic All-District Team.
Karleigh Kluever,
Olivia de Hesselle,
Marina Egbert and
Nicole Cicchetti all represent the Violets on the 2025 Academic All-District Softball Team.
This is a first-time honor for all four NYU representatives.
Kluever held the team's lowest earned runs average (ERA), 2.94, and finished the season in the top-10 among pitchers in the University Athletic Association. The sophomore started 14 games for the Violets and appeared in 22 games.
de Hesselle started all but one game in left field this season for NYU, leading the team with 17 runs batted in.
Egbert was a regular part of the Violets' pitching rotation, appearing in 18 games and pitching 39.1 innings.
Cicchetti started every game played by NYU this season at third base, leading the team with 112 at-bats.
All four of the Violets on the team also earned University Athletic Association (UAA) Spring All-Academic Recognition.
The CSC names student-athletes to the Academic All-District Teams that played at least two years, maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.50, and compete in 90 percent of games played or
must start in at least 66 percent of the institution's games. For pitchers, a student-athlete must have made at least 17 appearances or
pitched 35 innings.
