Softball Places Two on All-UAA Teams

Both Violets Earn First-Time UAA Recognition

Two members of the New York University softball team were recognized by the University Athletic Association (UAA) for their play this season. 

NYU's Alyssa Quary and Naya Schubel were named All-UAA selections, landing on the All-Association Second Team. 

This is the first All-Association honors for either Violet. 

Quary spent the 2025 campaign as the Violets' everyday first baseman in her sophomore season. She held the best batting average on the team, finishing the year hitting .333 with a .725 OPS. The Long Beach, CA, native registered 32 hits, two for extra bases, with 11 runs batted in over 34 starts.

Quary was a consistent presence in the field, holding a .966 fielding percentage at first base. 

Schubel earned the starting spot behind the plate in her first season at NYU. She started all 37 games in which she appeared ias a catcher. She led the Violets with a .764 OPS while maintaining a .313 batting average. The Fairless Hills, PA. native logged 30 hits - five of those as extra-base hits, including her first career collegiate home run against WashU on Apr. 5. 

The Violets' starting catcher caught seven runners stealing throughout the season and finished her first year at NYU with a .972 fielding percentage.
