The New York University softball team closed out the series against the University of Chicago, on Sunday, May 4, in Bronx, NY.
The Violets drop their last game of University Athletic Association (UAA) play 10-0.
The Maroons got out to a hot start, scoring three quick runs in the first inning. They added three more in the top of the third inning to make it a 6-0 game.
Chicago added an additional four runs in the top of the seventh inning, including a three-run home run.
The NYU offense only managed two hits, a double from
Nicole Cicchetti and a single from
Siena Kiefer.
In the circle for the Violets was
Olyvia Rutter. She only lasted three innings, as
Karleigh Kluever came in for relief in the top of the fourth inning. She was able to quell the Maroon's offense until the seventh inning.
The Violets will now play their final games of the season, set to face off against the Hunter College on Tuesday, May 6, at Randall's Island in New York, NY. The first game will begin at 3pm.
