Women's Golf Begins Play at NCAA Championship

Violets End Rain Shortened Round One in 14th Place

The New York University women's golf team started play at the NCAA Division III Championship on Tuesday, May 13, at the Kingsmill Resort & Spa in Williamsburg, VA.

The Violets were meant to tee off this morning at 10:30am, but a nasty rainstorm rolled through preventing play. NYU did manage to get on the course around 3:30pm, but was unable to finish their rounds.

So far, the Violets are sitting in 14th place with a combined score of +20. Each of the scoring golfers for NYU hit two birdies up to the stopping point.

Tiya Chowdary led the way for the Violets, shooting +3 and finishing tied for 22nd. She finished her day on hole 13. Naomi Tan (+4) and Kelly Jing (+5) were right behind her, both finishing among the top 50. They both finished on hole 14. Srishti Dhurandhar rounded out the scoring for NYU, carding a +8 and finishing on hole 15.

NYU will hit the links tomorrow to finish round one, as well as play out round two. Tee times will start around 8:00am.
