The National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) has announced that nine members of New York University's wrestling team have been selected for Scholar All-America honors. NYU also received Scholar All-America Team honors with the 13th-highest cumulative GPA (3.681) of all teams across NCAA Division III.
To be eligible to earn Scholar All-America honors, student-athletes must have placed either in the top eight at their regional tournaments or have wrestled in at least 15 matches with a win percentage greater than 66 percent. Academically, they must have maintained at least a 3.2 GPA over the last two semesters or have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.2.

Both Venezia and Pontelandolfo represented NYU at last weekend's NCAA Division III Championships with Pontelandolfo earning his fourth All-America honor with his runner-up finish in the 157-pound weight class.
