New York University's
#1-ranked women's cross country team competed in the Ron Stonistch Invitational hosted by Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, NY, on Saturday, September 14.
The Violets placed second in the 11-team event with 75 points.
The host Vassar Brewers finshed first with 23 points.
NYU's
Katherine Cheng finished fourth overall and notched a new personal best in the five-kilometer event with her time of 19:33.6.
Freshman
Lindsay Guthrie placed second for the Violets and 10th overall with a final time of 19:56.1.
In 13th place was
Emily Castles with a personal-best time of 20:01.6.
Rina Kurihara and
Ava Sieckmann rounded out the Violets' contingent, finishing in 26th and 29th place, respectively. Kurihara posted a 20:45.5 finish and Sieckmann clocked in at 21:44.2.
The Violets are back in action on Saturday, September 21, when they travel to Indianapolis, IN, to compete in the John McNichols Invitational hosted by Indiana State University.
