Members of the New York University men's and women's track & field teams traveled to Chester, PA, to compete in the Widener Final Qualifier on Monday, May 13.
Julian Aske took second in the 59-competitor field that made up the 800-meter run with a personal-best time of 1:48.98.
Jorge Rocha and
William Cornick also notched personal bests in the 800 with Rocha finishing in 1:56.81 and Cornick clocking 1:57.69.
Emma Grunin posted a second-place finish in the javelin throw with a mark of 36.04m.
In the 1,500-meter run, five Violets achieved new personal bests:
Alex Hrycysyzn (3:58.51),
Coleman Ruiz (4:06.07),
Janie Cooper (4:36.96),
Daniela Sekhar (4:45.95), and
Josephine Dziedzic (4:48.42).
The Violets return to action when they travel to Cortland, NY, to compete in the All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference (AARTFC) Outdoor Championships on Wednesday, May 15.
