Richardson Breaks Outdoor 5k Record

Aske Achieves New PR; Richardson Sets New 5k Record

Julian Aske and Grace Richardson of the New York University men's and women's track & field teams traveled to Winston-Salem, NC, to compete in the Wake Forrest Invitational on Friday, April 19.

Richardson toppled the outdoor 5k record of 16:56.98 set by teammate Viv Kane last season with her time today of 16:38.19. She placed 30th in the 56-athlete feild and captured her seventh program record in the process.

Aske competed in the 800-meter run, clocking a 1:50.35 finish to achieve a new personal best and a 17th-place finish in the 48-competitor race.

Members of the team will return to action tomorrow, April 20, for the second day of competition at the Paul Donahue Invite hosted by Widener University with competition set to begin at 9:00 AM.
