Natalie Bruns of New York University's national champion women's basketball team has been named Division III Academic All-America Team Member of the Year and First Team Academic All-America by College Sports Communicators (CSC, formerly CoSIDA).
Bruns, who was named Third Team Academic All-America last year, holds a 3.96 GPA as the forward pursues her degree in Business & Technology Management. She led NYU to the national championship and a perfect 31-0 record in 2023-24 while being named the NCAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player. Bruns was also named the National Player of the Year and All-America from both the WBCA and
D3hoops.com.
The University Athletic Association (UAA) Player of the Year finished the season averaging 14.3 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 3.16 blocks per game. She ranked fourth in the nation in total blocks (98), sixth in field goal shooting (59.3), and ninth in blocks per game, becoming the 18th player in NYU program history to reach 1,000 points while setting a new single-season and career program record for blocks.
Bruns' elite performances on the court and in the classroom have her recognized alongside WNBA No. 1 draft pick Caitlin Clark of the University of Iowa, who was named Division I Academic All-America Team Member of the Year.
In addition to the many honors listed above, the St. Louis native was also named All-Met Division III Women's Basketball Player of the Year and First Team All-Met, First Team All-UAA and CSC Academic All-District.
