Members of the New York University men's and women's track & field teams traveled to Rochester, NY, to compete in day one of the All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference (AARTFC) Championships hosted by Nazareth University on Friday, March 1.
Dasha Jackson took 20th-place in the preliminary round of the 60-meter hurdles, crossing the line in 9.59.
Seneca Guneratne and
Travis Perry competed in the preliminary section of the 60-meter dash. Guneratne clocked 8.13 to take 17th, while Perry took 43rd, finishing in 7.31.
Kate Walsh placed 21st in the long jump with a mark of 5.04m.
The women ran a 4x400-meter relay team consisting of Guneratne,
Laila Goodman,
Beverly Okyere, and
Cindy Leonard, which finished in 4:09.57 to take 11th out of 15 teams.
After day one of competition, Carnegie Mellon University leads the men's field with 34.5 points and SUNY Geneseo leads the women's with 28 points. NYU is scoreless through day one of competition.
The Violets will be back in action at the AARTFC Championships tomorrow, March 2, with competition set to begin at 10:30 AM.
