New York University's women's cross country team competed in the Women's White College 6k at the Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA, on Saturday, October 5.
The team placed third overall in the 46-team event with 186 points. The Violets trailed University Athletic Association rival Emory University, who finished in second place with 152 points.
Amherst University was victorious with 135 points.
Janie Cooper crossed the line first for NYU in 10th place and posted a new personal best in the 6k with her time of 21:22.8.
Josephine Dziedzic finished 16th with a personal-best time of 21:51.4.
Finishing in 22:05.7 to take 25th place was Lucy Gott.
Olivia Jackson posted a 60th-place finish with a time of 22:29.4.
Rounding out the Violets top-five finishers was Daniela Sekhar, who clocked 22:39.4 to notch a new personal-best time and take 75th in the 386-competitor event.
In the open, non-scoring section of the 6k, two Violets notched new personal bests: Stella Kuttner (22:52.1) and Emily Castles (23:03.1).
The Violets are back in action next Saturday, October 12, when they host the Metropolitan Championship in Branch Brook, NJ.
