The New York University men's cross country team traveled to Behtlehem, PA, on Saturday, October 5, to compete in the Men's White College 8k at the Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh University.
As a team, the Violets placed second in the 41-team event with 89 points accrued. Regional rival SUNY Geneseo took first in the race with 75 points in the eight-kilometer event.
Finishing first for the Violets was Ryan Tobin in third place with a time of 24:41.1.
Evan Sherman and Jeffrey Chen took 14th and 15th place, respectively, with Sherman crossing the line in 24:59.2 and Chen finishing just behind in 25:01.7.
In 25th place was Liam Hagerty with a time of 25:12.6.
Andrew Taylor topped off the Violets' top-five finishers with his 25:17.4 to take 32nd in the 373-person event.
In the open, non-scoring section of the 8k, Samir Hussain set a new personal best with his time of 27:20.1.
The Violets are back in action next Saturday, October 12, when they host the Metropolitan Championship in Branch Brook, NJ.
