New York University's golf teams completed the second round of competition at the Jekyll Island Invitational in Jekyll Island, GA on Saturday with the women maintaining their spot in eighth while the men slipped to 28th.
The women improved by five strokes today, shooting 309 while their two-day total of 623 is three strokes behind seventh-place Centre College. Sewanee leads the field with a score of 596.
Tiya Chowdary had a great second round for NYU, improving six spots to sixth place with an even 72 on the day. She's just two strokes out of first and leads a duo tied for seventh by just one.
Irene Park shot 78 today, improving by one over yesterday, as her total score of 157 is tied for 34th individually.
Nalinda Wanikpun (t-46th, 159) and
Camilla Chung (t-74th, 165) round out NYU's scorers after two days of golf.
There are 24 teams and 120 individuals competing on the women's side.
For the men,
Charles Hsieh is the lone Violet among the top 30 after shooting 75 today. His two-day total of 145 is tied for 26th.
Kevin Kim (t-88th, 152),
Ryan Leung (t-142nd, 163) and
Jorge Montero (149th, 174) complete NYU's four scorers. There are 30 teams and 150 golfers in action on the men's side.
The third and final round at Jekyll Island tees off at 1pm tomorrow.
