New York University's men and women's track & field teams wrapped up day two of the University Athletic Association (UAA) Indoor Championships hosted by Brandeis University on Sunday, February 26.
After both days of competition, the women's team totaled 27.5 points for sixth place, while the men finished seventh overall with 10 points.
Washington University in St. Louis captured both the men and women's team titles.
The best individual performance of the day was produced by
Areyanna McCarthy, who finished fourth and set a new personal best in the high jump (1.58m). She also marked a personal best of 10.78m in the triple jump.
Isre'al Conerly finished fifth in both the 200-meter and 400-meter finals, with times of 25.86 and 59.37, respectively.
The Violets achieved multiple personal bests on the final day of competition.
Emma Grunin (10.75m),
Kai Aravena (10.60m) and
Paul Ioffreda (11.26m) marked their furthest throws of the season in the shot put.
On the track, three members of the distance squad earned personal records. In the 3,000-meter run,
Jeffrey Chen posted a time of 8:46.31. For the women,
Estelle Gladden finished in 10:15.01 capturing eighth place in the 3,000-meter, while
Sophie Carissimo clocked in at 5:33.88 setting a new career top-time in the mile.
Both the men and women's teams return to action Friday and Saturday, March 3-4, when they compete in the All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference Championships at the New Balance Track & Field Center at the Armory in Manhattan, NY.
