The New York University men's golf team, in its first action of the 2022-23 season, is competing in the Duke Nelson Invitational, hosted by Middlebury College, on Saturday and Sunday, September 10-11.
The two-day tournament is being held at the Ralph Myhre Golf Course in Middlebury, VT.
The Violets totaled 304 strokes in Saturday's first round and are tied for sixth place in the 24-team invitational.
Host Middlebury leads the competition at 293. NYU is currently tied with Bowdoin College just two strokes behind fifth-place Babson College.
Kevin Kim is the Violets' low scorer, shooting a two-over-par 73 on the par 71, 6,395-yard course. He carded three birdies and is tied for sixth place in the 124-person competition.
The NYU threesome of
Ishaan Shroff,
Charles Hsieh and
Jorge Montero all shot 77 and are tied for 29th place.
Ethan Yang, also competing for NYU, carded a 78 and is tied for 44th place.
The second and final round is set to begin at 9:00am on Sunday.
