ECAC Women's Volleyball Championship Bracket
The New York University women's volleyball team will be competing in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Championship after completing the regular-season with an overall record of 18-16. The Violets will host Mount St. Mary College (18-14) at 7 pm on Wednesday, November 7, at NYU's Brooklyn Athletic Facility in Brooklyn, NY.
The ECAC announced that the three top seeds, all of whom will be receiving byes in the first round, are Cabrini University (22-10), McDaniel College (21-8) and Westminster College (30-3).
Under first-year Head Coach
Andrew Brown, NYU finished in sixth place in the ultra-competitive University Athletic Association (UAA), the Violets' best showing since taking fifth place in 2014.
NYU last appeared in the ECAC Championship in 2016, advancing to the finals and falling in four sets to Swarthmore College.
The Violets won the ECAC title in 2013.
On Wednesday, there will be five first-round games with the higher-seeded team hosting. The games are as follows:
In pod 1, No. 2 seeded Neumann University (16-16) will host No. 3 Brooklyn College (18-10).
In pod 2, No. 2 seed Penn State University Behrend (19-10) will host No. 3 Wilkes University (18-12).
In pod 3, No. 2 Lebanon Valley College (17-12) will host No. 3 Rutgers University-Newark (16-11).
In pod 4, No. 1 Misericordia University (25-10) hosts No. 4 John Jay College (16-11) and No. 2 NYU hosts No. 3 Mount St. Mary.
The winners of each round will move on to the quarterfinals on Saturday, Nov. 10, at Cabrini in Radnor, PA. The semifinal and championship rounds, also at Cabrini, will take place on Sunday, Nov. 11.
