The New York University men's fencing team defeated all three of its opponents at Columbia University's Historical Meet on Wednesday, February 15, in Manhattan.
The Violets began the evening with a big 14-13 victory over two-time defending NCAA champion Columbia, and followed that with victories over Vassar College (21-6) and Sacred Heart University (19-8).
Leading the way for the Violets was senior
Quinten Burgunder, who went 7-1 in sabre on the evening. The Chatham, NJ, native went 2-1 against Columbia, 2-0 against Vassar, and 3-0 against Sacred Heart.
"This was a fantastic result for our team," said Head Coach
