ResultsNew York University's men's swimming & diving team defeated Springfield College 188-98 on Saturday, January 16, at the Palladium Athletic Facility (PAF) in Manhattan.
Junior captain
Daniel Tay won the 100-yard butterfly (51.27) and 200-yard butterfly (1:55.93). He was also a member of the winning 200-yard medley relay team along with classmate
Jake Parker and sophomores
Adam Betts and
Joe Baron.
"I thought we swam really well out there and it was nice to get the win," said Head Coach
Trevor Miele. "We still have a lot of work ahead of us, but we are where we need to be at this point in the season."
HIGHLIGHTS:-The Violets swept every event.
-Betts was victorious in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:54.76 and placed second in the 100-yard backstroke (52.54).
-Sophomore
Chad Moody took first in the 100-yard freestyle (46.79) and the 100-yard backstroke (51.58). He also won the 400-yard freestlyle relay (3:15.72) with classmate
Joe Baron and seniors
Win Htet Oo and
Frank Bozzi-Sophomore diver
Dylan Adler won the one-meter competition and placed second in the three-meter with respective scores of 247.42 and 208.51 points
"It was a great win for Dylan," said Diving Coach
Scott Donie. "He added a lot of new dives and it was great to see them in competition."
The Violets return to the pool on Friday, January 22, when they take on the United States Merchant Marine Academy at the PAF starting at 5:00 pm.
