ResultsNew York University's men's swimming & diving team defeated host Vassar College 180-98 in a dual meet on Saturday, November 21, in Poughkeepsie, NY.
Sophomore
Chad Moody took first in the 200-yard freestyle (1:46.23) and the 200-yard individual medley (1:59.31). He led a Violet sweep of the top three positions in the 200 IM, finishing ahead of sophomore
Tim Kou (1:59.38) and junior captain
Daniel Tay (2:02.61). Tay and Kou were also members of the winning 200-yard medley relay team (1:39.30) along with sophomore
Martin Brekke and junior Harry Clewell.
"The team put forth a great effort today," said Head Coach
Trevor Miele. "It was fantastic to see some exciting races."
HIGHLIGHTS:- Tay also placed first in the 100-yard backstroke (53.68).
- In the 500-yard freestyle, sophomores
Adam Betts (5:01.98) and
Avery Soong (5:03.76), and senior captain
Frank Bozzi (5:09.40) swept the top three positions.
- Kou placed first in the 50-yard freestyle (21.94), ahead of teammates Clewell (23.00) and junior
Andrew Bui (23.36).
- Sophomore
Dylan Adler won both the one-meter (251.45) and three-meter (216.20) diving competitions, recording personal bests in both events.
"Everyone competed really well today," said Diving Coach
Scott Donie. "I'm looking forward to getting back to work as we prepare for the MIT invitational."
The Violets return to the pool for the MIT Invitational in Cambridge, MA, Friday-Sunday, December 4-6.
