NWCA National Duals Division III BracketThe New York University Wrestling team is set to compete at the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Cliff Keen National Duals on Friday and Saturday, January 9-10, in Fort Wayne, IN.
This will be NYU's second consecutive trip to the tournament after a six-year hiatus. The event is highlighted by elite competition from multiple divisions of collegiate wrestling.
NYU (7-1),
ranked 26th in this week's NWCA Division III poll, is the 18th seed in the Division III portion of the tournament. The field of 24 DIII teams includes 17 of the top-30 teams in the most recent poll.
The grapplers will face #23-ranked Olivet College in the first round of the tournament with a chance to advance to the round of 16. The winner of the NYU-Olivet match will move on to face the four-time defending champion, tournament #2-seed and national #2 Wartburg College (7-1). Eight different Wartburg wrestlers are ranked among the top-10 in the nation in their respective weight classes.
