On March 22, 1997, the New York University women's basketball team captured the first National Championship in school history, defeating the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in dramatic fashion.
Marsha Harris, the program's all-time leading scorer, hit the game-winning layup with less than two seconds on the clock to lift the Violets to the title.
