A handful of some of the best runners from the New York University women's track and field team competed at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational at the New Balance Track and Field Center in Manhattan on Friday, February 3. The Violets competed against some of the best runners from across the country, including some from Division I schools.
Senior
Paige Zelinsky led the way in the 3,000 meters, finishing fourth with a season-best time of 10:07.65. Two of Zelinsky's teammates, seniors
Maeve Evans and
Laura Santoski, placed sixth (10:09.7) and 15th (10:19.06), respectively.
Santoski's performance was a season-best for her. while Evans was running for only the second time this season after recovering from injury.
Junior
Georgina Norton and freshman
Alyssa Binczyk participated in the 1,000 meters, finishing with times of 3:01.15 and 3:03.35, respectively.
A number of team members will return to action on Saturday, Feb. 4, at the Seamus McElligott Invitational at Haverford, College in Haverford, PA.
