Women's Basketball Wins Third Straight

Crittenden, Wurtz Lead Violets in Road Victory

The New York University women's basketball team jumped out to an 11-0 lead and never looked back, defeating the College of St. Elizabeth 78-52 on Thursday, November 29, in Morristown, NJ.
 
After scoring the game's first 11 points, the Violets (4-1) led by double digits nearly the entire way. Rachel Crittenden was one of four scorers to reach double figures, netting a game-high 19 points.
 
Highlights
 
- Riley Wurtz came close to recording a triple-double for NYU. The freshman totaled 12 points, nine rebounds and eight assists. She added six steals on the defensive end.
 
- Megan Dawe and Melissa Peng also hit double figures, netting 11 points apiece. Dawe added six boards.
 
- Nicole Lem tallied nine points and three rebounds. Cassidy Jourdan and Maya Wasowicz notched six points and four assists each, while Wasowicz also had three blocks and two steals.
 
- During their three-game winning streak, the Violets have won by an average margin of 32.7 points per game.

"I was pleased with our overall effort tonight," said Head Coach Lauren Hall-Gregory. "Each game, our goal is to improve and develop both individually and as a team. I believe we did that tonight."
 
NYU continues its five-game road swing on Monday, December 3, when it travels to Brooklyn College. Game time is at 5:30 pm.
