Some of the best fencing programs in the nation are set to compete at the Jerome S. Coles Sports Center on Sunday, January 22, when New York University hosts its annual NYU Fencing Invitational.
Eight other institutions will be competing in the one-day event. Along with the Violets, Columbia University, St. John's University, University of Notre Dame, Ohio State University, Yale University, Wayne State University, North Carolina University (men), and Northwestern University (women) will all be on the strip.
The first set of bouts are scheduled to begin at 8:00 am.

Among the men's teams competing, four are ranked among the top 10 nationally: Notre Dame (#4), Ohio State (#5), St John's (#6), and Yale (#10).
Among the women's teams, Notre Dame #3), St John's (#5) and Ohio State (#6) all show up in the rankings.

The invitational will mark the first team competitions for both the NYU men's and women's fencing teams since the Penn State Invitational on December 3.
