St. Lawrence Invitational Results
Anchored by their veteran leadership, the NYU women's golf team earned a fifth-place finish at St. Lawrence Invitational in Canton, NY, over the weekend.
Sophomore
Kristina Shalhoup was the Violets' low scorer, recording a two-over-par 74 in Sunday's final round. She rebounded nicely after shooting an 82 on Saturday.
Overall, Shalhoup finished fourth individually in the nine-team field.
“Kristina was huge for us today and has continued to impress me,” said head coach
Todd Kolean.
Senior
Meaghan Kenny was NYU's second low scorer, posting a two-round total of 177 (83-94) and finishing tied for 14th overall.
NYU's next three finishers were all freshmen:
Shannon Leonard (182, 89-93), Kyna Chang (185, 88-97) and
Haley Packard (191, 100-91).
The Violets posted a two-day stroke total of 694 (342-352),
Host St. Lawrence won the competition with a 675 (340-335) total.
"We're very young and a bit inexperienced, but our veteran leaders were able to lead by example and carry the team to a good performance," Kolean said.
