Three members of the New York University women's golf team have been honored for their outstanding individual performances at the Liberty League Championship this past weekend.
Jiayi Fu was named both the University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week and Liberty League Performer of the Week, while
Inha Jun earned Liberty League Rookie of the Week honors.
Sonia Hao was a Liberty League Honorable Mention.
The champion of the individual standings at the Liberty League Championship, Fu shot an even par in round one before recording a +3 in round two. She finished one stroke ahead of second-place Hao and Jun.
Jun posted a a +1 in the opening round and a +3 in the second round for an overall score of +4.
Hao shot a +2 in both rounds and was tied with Jun.
The trio's efforts helped NYU capture the team championship with an overall score of +14, finishing 21 strokes ahead of the rest of the competition.
The Violets will now compete at the NCAA Division III Championship, beginning on Tuesday, May 19, in Palm Desert, CA.
