New York University junior golfer David Su has been named University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week.
Su had one of the best outings of his career at the Johnson & Wales University Wildcat Spring Invitational in Cranston, RI, over the weekend.
Su fired rounds of 72 and 74 over the par-71, 6,493-yard Cranston Country Club. His combined score after 36 holes had him tied for the individual scoring title at four-over par. However, Salem State College senior Jeffrey Santora (75-71) took home the individual honors after winning a two-hole playoff on Sunday.
Su's steady play was vital to NYU winning the tournament as a team with a score of 607. It was the first win for the Violets this spring.
It was the third time in his career and the first time this season that Su has been named UAA Athlete of the Week .
