Haverford Invitational Results

A small contingent of Violets competed at the Haverford Invitational in Haverford, PA, on Sunday, and a pair of NYU pole vaulters rose above the rest.

Freshman Ilana Dreiman made her debut for NYU a memorable one, finishing in third place in the pole vault event with a height of 2.30 meters (7'6-1/2"). Sophomore teammate Carla Stachurski also posted a 2.30m height, but needed more attempts and thus was placed fourth.

Also competing for NYU was freshman Alex Simonoff, who went a personal-best 4.69 meters (15'4-3/4) in the long jump and finished in fifth place. She also ran the 55 meters and took a 22nd-place finish (8.19).

There was no team scoring at the meet, which was originally scheduled for Saturday but was postponed due to the snow storm in the the region.
