Awards Accumulating for Women's Volleyball

Caesar, Dunn Earn AVCA Regional Awards; Baban, Dick Also Cited

Baban and the Violets were well-recognized by AVCA.

Kendyl Dunn earned New York Region Freshman of the Year honors, while head coach Ed Caesar captured Region Coach of the Year honors when the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced its NCAA Division III Volleyball All-Region Teams on Thursday.

Dunn and sophomore Mina Baban were named to the All-New York Region Team, while sophomore Elizabeth Dick earned Honorable-Mention.

Earlier this week, the trio also received University Athletic Association (UAA) All-Association accolades. Dunn was named UAA Rookie of the Year and also received First Team All-UAA honors. In addition, Dick and Baban were selected Second Team All-UAA.

Caesar collected the New York Region Coach of the Year award after guiding the Violets to a 28-9 record and the top seed in the New York Region of the 2009 NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Championship.  He has now earned the honor four times during his eight-year coaching career at NYU.
