After earning three awards for her outstanding play last week, Jessica McEntee staked her claim for more accolades, finishing with 23 points and 11 rebounds as New York University (#13 USA Today ESPN/#22 D3Hoops.com) downed Drew University, 81-49, in non-conference women's basketball action Tuesday night at the Jerome S. Coles Sports Center in Manhattan.

Named Player of the Week by three organizations earlier this week – Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III Metro, PrestoSports/Metropolitan Basketball Writers' Association and the University Athletic Association – McEntee went 13-for-14 from the charity stripe in 22 minutes en route to recording her sixth double-double in seven games.

Christine Kilmurray compiled her first double-double with career highs of 11 points and 13 rebounds in 17 minutes, and 13 different players scored as NYU (8-0) dealt the Rangers (6-1) their first setback.

"I thought we did a really good job of executing our gameplan, both offensively and defensively," NYU interim head coach Stefano Trompeo said.  "Every single person executed well."

Danielle Harris led Drew, which was limited to 25.4% (16-for-63) shooting, with 17 points.

For starters, the Violets forced their way to the foul line each of their first four trips down the floor. McEntee canned all four of her tries, while Grace Carmen went 3-for-4 from the charity stripe, staking NYU to a 7-0 lead just 98 seconds into the contest.

This ultimately set the tone for the first half, as NYU went 19-for-24 (79.2%) on free throws, taking a 37-25 lead into the locker room despite shooting just 27.3% (9-for-33) from the field. McEntee finished the opening stanza with 17 points and nine rebounds while going 13-for-14 from the stripe.

"I've been challenging our post players to get proper position," Trompeo said.  "Our guards did a good job in getting the ball down there.  Our post players did a job of executing their moves and getting fouled."

To remove any doubt, the Violets used a 12-0 run to start the second half, with McEntee and Bianca Storts each scoring four points, to take a 49-25 lead.

Chelsea Seabron also set career bests of nine points and 10 rebounds for the Violets, who owned a 59-33 rebounding edge, shot 42.4% (28-for-66) from the floor and 74.2% (23-for-31) at the line.

NYU is off for 24 days until it hosts the College of St. Elizabeth on Jan. 3 in the NYU Classic.
