Cheryl Toussaint did not compete as a varsity athlete for the Violets since NYU did not sponsor women’s track & field at the time, but she represented the University at the 1970 World University Games and medaled in the 800 meters and the 4x400-meter relay. She went onto to help the U.S. earn a silver medal in the 4x400 relay at the 1972 Munich Summer Olympics. Toussaint was also a four-time Millrose Games champion from 1970-73, a three-time USA National AAU indoor champion and a two-time USA National AAU outdoor champion. A 2005 Millrose Games Hall of Fame inductee, she founded Tousse Running Apparel, a company that specializes in performance running apparel. Toussaint resides in Teaneck, NJ.
