Ron Moreno has been hired as an assistant coach of New York University's men's and women's tennis teams.

A 1996 NYU graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science, Moreno was a two-year member of the Violets' tennis team.

"I'm excited about the opportunity to be back at NYU and serve on the coaching staff," Moreno said. "I look forward to the season ahead and focusing on our student-athletes reaching their absolute potentials."

Prior to joining NYU, Moreno served three years (2022-25) as the head coach of the boy's and girl's tennis teams at Columbia Prep High School in Manhattan and as a tennis instructor at Columbia Prep Elementary School.

In addition to his current position, Moreno also works as a coach at the Prospect Park Tennis Center in Brooklyn and as an instructor for Liahan Tennis in Manhattan.

Moreno also served several years as an instructor within NYU Recreation.

"I'm happy to have Ron on board," said Head Coach Horace Choy. "He has a lot of experience coaching players and will bring a lot to our teams. Ron is an alumnus of NYU and understands the academic and athletic balance our players strive for."

A native of Queens, NY, Moreno resides in Brooklyn.
