Bruns Receives Elite 90 Award

Honored for HIghest GPA at Women's Basketball Final Four

Natalie Bruns has earned a multitude of honors during her outstanding collegiate basketball career:

Two-time National Player of the Year
Two-Time UAA Player of the Year
Metropolitan Basketball Writers Player of the Year
NCAA Division III National Champion
NYU's All-Time Shot Blocker (320)
NYU's #6 All-Time Scorer (1,593 points)
College Sports Communicators Academic All-American
(and many, many more).

But, until tonight, she had never won the NCAA Elite 90 Award.

Now she has.

The award was presented at the NCAA Women's Basketball Awards Banquet on Wednesday, March 19, on the eve of NYU's participation in the Division III Final Four. Bruns earned the Elite 90 Award for the first time on the strength of her 3.964 undergraduate cumulative grade point average, the highest among all of the Final Four participants.

As per the NCAA: "The Elite 90 award honors the exceptional achievements of student-athletes. This prestigious accolade is given to those who have not only excelled at a national championship level in their sport, but have also achieved the highest academic standards among their peers. The Elite 90 is proudly awarded to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA at the finals site for each of the NCAA's 90 championships. Eligible student-athletes are sophomores or above academically who have participated in a sport for at least two years with their school."

CONGRATULATIONS Natalie Bruns
