In the men's section, Tobin finished in 12th place, notching a 14:27.60 finish.
"Ryan put himself in a great position and had an excellent effort, a similar effort tomorrow should put him in a great position to be in the hunt for the podium," said Deck Shipley.
Cochran and Tobin, along with Janie Cooper, will take the track in the 3,000-meter run tomorrow, Saturday, March 15, on the second day of the championship event in Rochester. The men's section is set to take off at 5:40 PM, followed by the women's at 6:00 PM.
