The New York University men's and women's track & field teams competed in the Scarlet Knight Open, hosted by Rutgers University at The Armory in Manhattan, on Friday, January 31.
In the women's mile, Janie Cooper placed second with a time of 4:56.59, while Stella Kuttner finished fifth in 4:58.88.
In the men's mile, Evan Sherman secured seventh place with a time of 4:16.93.
Andrew Taylor also earned a seventh-place finish in the men's 3,000-meter run, crossing the line in 8:41.89, followed by Sam Frank in 14th place (8:55.97).
Matt Marcelo placed 10th in the unseeded 60-meter dash, clocking 7.46.
In the men's 800-meter run, freshman Everett Jania finished 14th out of 46 competitors with a time of 1:59.18.
Dasha Jackson took 15th in the triple jump (10.86m), while Isaac Tu (12.62m) and Drew Boyce (12.36m) placed 11th and 12th, respectively, in the men's triple jump.
In the men's shot put, Daniel Lee finished in 10th place with an 11.94m mark.
Both teams return to action on Saturday, February 8, at the Big Apple Invitational, held at the Ocean Breeze Park Track & Field Athletic Complex on Staten Island.
