Members of the New York University men's and women's track & field teams traveled to Philadelphia, PA, to compete at the Widener Winter Evening Invite on Friday, January 24.
Areyanna McCarthy set a new personal best in the long jump with a mark of 5.03m.
Oliver Fideler marked 6.34m in the long jump to take seventh place. In the women's 60-meter hurdles,
Dasha Jackson placed eighth with a time of 9.60.
Four Violets competed in the 60-meter dash:
Travis Perry (7.13),
Seneca Guneratne (8.16),
Cindy Leonard (8.56), and
Beverly Okyere (8.66).
Perry (23.47), Okeyere (27.69), Leonard (28.65), and
James Thompson (23.37) also competed in the 200-meter dash.
The teams return to action tomorrow, Saturday, January 25, competing either at the Widener Winter Evening Invite or at The Armory in Manhattan.
