The New York University wrestlers are competing at the NCAA Division III Northeast Regionals on Saturday and Sunday, March 2-3, in Worcester, MA.
The top three wrestlers in each weight class will qualify for the NCAA Division III National Championships later this month.
Four Violets have advanced to the semifinals of their respective brackets and will have a chance to earn automatic qualification on Sunday. The NYU foursome consists of
Benny Bautista (125),
Cooper Pontelandolfo (157),
Jason Geyer (174),
Trent Furman (184).
As a team, the Violets have compiled 94.5 points and are in fourth place.
Johnson and Wales leads the 20-team competition with 113 points.
Action begins on Sunday at 10:00am.
