Eight members of the New York University men's and women's track & field teams competed at the TCNJ Indoor Opener on Saturday, December 7, at the Armory in Manhattan.
In the first competition of the evening, Dasha Jackson placed 10th in the preliminary round of the 60-meter hurdles.
In the 60-meter dash preliminaries, Isaac Tu took 36th (7.59) and Nishad Sankar took 37th (7.65). Both Tu and Sankar achieved new personal bests.
In the women's section, Beverly Okyere finished in 42nd place (8.52)
Okyere returned in the 300-meter dash, crossing the line in 43.67 to take 22nd and post a new personal best.
EJ Eaglin notched a 15th-place finish in the 400-meter dash with a time of 57.04.
Three athletes competed in field events: Drew Boyce finished in 16th place and set a new personal-best mark in the long jump (5.33m), Areyanna McCarthy finished in fifth place in the high jump (1.48m), and Daniel Lee finished in eighth place and notched a personal best in the shot put (12.88m).
Both the men's and women's teams will be back in action when they return to the Armory to compete in the St. Thomas Aquinas College Invitational on January 10, 2025.
