Members of the New York University wrestling team competed at the New York State Collegiate Championships on Saturday, November 23, in Oneonta, NY.
The Violets accumulated 60 points and finished 12th in the 20-team competition.
Host Oneonta State won the title with 265 points.
At 133,
James Carlock was the team's top performance with a second-place finish. He advanced to the finals with a 11-3 major decision victory over Danny Poggi of Oneonta State before falling to Ryan Arbeit of Division I Hofstra University in the finals.
At 165,
Rex Jacops won four bouts, three by fall, and finished fifth. He defeated teammate
Alexander Kaufmann, who posted three wins, including a fall and major decision, in the fifth-place match.
NYU also had a sixth-place finisher at 125 as
Neale Pathak won his first match, but then had to withdraw due to injury.
Other members of the team competed at home at the John A. Paulson Center against Johnson & Wales University.
The entire squad returns ro action at the Roger Williams Duals in Bristol, RI, on Saturday, December 7.
