New York University is pleased to announce the hiring of
Matthew Kaldon as Special Events, Camps & Clinics Coordinator for the Department of Athletics, Intramurals and Recreation.
A 2013 graduate of SUNY New Paltz with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Relations, Kaldon will be responsible to plan, develop, and manage all aspects of the department's special events. He is in charge of programs, conferences, camps, clinics, etc, and works to ensure that logistics are prepared, including security arrangements, facility reservations, menu planning, transportation arrangements, and organization of all event materials.
"Matt coming to NYU is a reunion of sorts for me," said Stuart Robinson, NYU's Director of Athletics and Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs. "He completed an internship with me as a senior at New Paltz and has gone on to continue to grow as an administrator since then. I am pleased to see how he has continued to grow as a professional, and I am excited that he will bring his talents to NYU and our community."
Kaldon, who went on to earn a Master of Science in Sports Business Management from Manhattanville College in 2016, joins NYU after serving as the Assistant Director of Athletics and Recruiting Coordinator at Yeshiva University since 2021. While there, he undertook a myriad of responsibilities, including game and event administration, managing facilities, budgeting, supervising student workers, and working with coaches in the process of recruiting student-athletes.
Kaldon's other professional experience includes working as the Athletic Liaison & Transfer Admission Counselor at Mount Saint Mary College from 2019-21, where he also served as assistant baseball coach and recruiting coordinator.
As an undergrad, Kaldon was a catcher and captain of the Hawks' baseball team and was a SUNYAC All-Conference selection. He went on to play professionally for the Glacier Grizzlies of the Mount Rainier Professional Baseball League in 2015.
A native of Montgomery, NY, Kaldon resides in Walden, NY, with his wife Shelby and their daughter Vivian.
