Matthew Kaldon was hired as Special Events, Camps & Clinics Coordinator for New York University’s Department of Athletics, Intramurals and Recreation in July 2023.
In May 2024, he was promoted to Assistant Athletic Director for Special Events. He oversees special events, all department camps and clinics, and the development of internal and external space rental revenue. He plans, develops, and manages all aspects of the department’s special events, conferences, camps, clinics, etc., while also ensuring that all logistics are handled, including security arrangements, facility reservations, menu planning, transportation, etc.
A 2013 graduate of SUNY New Paltz with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Relations, Kaldon went on to earn a Master of Science in Sports Business Management from Manhattanville College in 2016.
He joined NYU after serving as the Assistant Director of Athletics and Recruiting Coordinator at Yeshiva University since 2021. While there, he undertook a myriad of responsibilities, including game and event administration, managing facilities, budgeting, supervising student workers, and working with coaches in the process of recruiting student-athletes.
Kaldon’s other professional experience includes working as the Athletic Liaison & Transfer Admission Counselor at Mount Saint Mary College from 2019-21, where he also served as assistant baseball coach and recruiting coordinator.
As an undergrad, Kaldon was a catcher and captain of the Hawks’ baseball team and was a SUNYAC All-Conference selection. He went on to play professionally for the Glacier Grizzlies of the Mount Rainier Professional Baseball League in 2015.
A native of Montgomery, NY, Kaldon resides in Walden, NY, with his wife Shelby and their daughter Vivian and son Grayson.
