Competing in its third meet of the 2022 indoor season, New York University's Women's Track & Field Team took part in Boston University's John Thomas Terrier Classic on Friday, January 28 in Boston, MA.
The men's team is scheduled to compete at the Classic on Sunday, January 30, weather permitting.
Highlights
- Rookie Summer Reid was the Violets' highest finisher in any event, placing fifth, and first among Division III student-athletes, out of 28 runners in the 60-meter dash (8.19).
- Isre'al Conerly placed in the top half of both of her events on the day.
- She was the 30th runner to cross the finish line (out of 82) in the 400-meter dash (59.75). It was her first time competing in the 400-meter this season.
- The junior placed 59th out of 136 entrants in the 200-meter dash, finishing in 26.55 seconds.
- Leah Haley (5:24.09) and Gabrielle Stankosh (5:33.35) represented NYU in the one-mile run.
- Oni Scott notched a 1.45-meter finish in the high jump.
- Katherine Cheng was 31st out of 74 participants in the 800-meter with a season-best time of 2:20.34.
- Athina Zodl was NYU's top finisher in the 3K with a time of 19:45.49.
Next Up
The Violets compete at the NYC DIII Invitational on Friday, February 4. The event is split between the Armory in Manhattan and Ocean Breeze on Staten Island.
