The fifth-ranked New York University men's volleyball team split its two matches on the second day of competition at the Carthage/MSOE Tournament. The final two matches were played on Saturday, March 17, at the Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) in Milwaukee, WI.

In their first match, the Violets fell to fourth-ranked Juniata College in four sets (25-19, 19-25, 26-24, 25-23).

Freshman Matthew MacDonald had a breakout match for NYU, recording a career-high 16 kills. Taylor Fauntleroy led all players with 20 kills.

NYU still remains perfect in the United Volleyball Conference (UVC) at 9-0 and are in prime position to gain the automatic bid into the NCAA tournament by winning the UVC Tournament.

In the final match of the road trip, NYU defeated host MSOE in straight sets (25-11, 25-23, 25-19).

The Violets finished an even 2-2 on the road trip, advancing their overall record to 17-6.

NYU's next match is at home against local rival and UVC foe Stevens Institute of Technology on Wednesday, March 21. This match is a Tear-It-Up! event with first serve set for 7:00pm.
