Emily Jenkinson earned Second Team All-University Athletic Association (UAA) honors, highlighting a list of four New York University women's soccer players named to the All-Association women's soccer team Thursday.
In addition, the trio of Katie Gaston, Erica Jones and Filiz Kipcakli each garnered Honorable Mention All-UAA accolades for the second straight season.
Jenkinson missed the Violets' 2008 UAA slate after suffering a season-ending injury during non-conference play, but rebounded to lead them with five points (2 goals, 1 assist) during Association play this fall. She found the back of the net at Emory University on Oct. 16 and against UAA champion University of Chicago on Oct. 30. Jenkinson also assisted on a score against Washington University on Nov. 1.
Overall, Jenkinson ranks second on the Violets in goals (6) and points (14).
Gaston again provided solid play at center back for NYU, starting six of seven UAA games. The Violets allowed only one goal in four of their seven Association contests. Overall, Gaston has started in 17 of 18 games and scored one goal, the game-winner in a 3-2 triumph over Ursinus College on Sept. 12.
Jones contributed her lone assist in the Violets' 1-1 tie at Emory on Oct. 16 and started all seven UAA contests. She has started in all 18 games and has produced career highs in assists (5) and points (9) while tying her personal best with two goals.
Kipcakli produced her only UAA points on a goal that gave NYU a 1-0 lead before it dropped a 2-1, overtime decision to Washington on Nov. 1. She currently leads the team in goals (8) and points (18), and has already set the school single-season record for game-winning goals (6).
