The New York University wrestling team split its two matches in the Metropolitan Conference/New England Duals held at Hunter College in New York City on Saturday, Jan. 31.

In its first match, NYU lost to Williams College 28-6, but rebounded for a 23-15 win over Roger Williams University. 

Senior co-captain Naum Shuminov, at 184 pounds, and sophomore Steve Contino, wrestling at 133 pounds, were NYU's only double-winners.  

Shuminov beat his Williams opponents by decision, then recorded his 17th pin of the season against  Roger Williams.  Both of Contino's wins came by decision.

The "grapplers" are now 7-6 this season.
