Aleks Ochocki

Aleks Ochocki joined New York University as an assistant men’s and women’s fencing coach in October 2022.

In his first season, Ochocki helped guide the Violets to a 17th-place finish at the NCAA Championships. The men’s team posted a 14-13 match record (its eighth-straight winning season) while the women went 9-19. Both squads were cited as the United States Fencing Coaches Association (USFCA) Division III Teams of the Year.

Several fencers put together outstanding campaigns in 2022-23. On the men’s side, Ian Adler was named USFCA Division III Epee Athlete of the Year and First Team Division III All-American. Farr Dickson also received both honors in foil, while also adding USFCA Division III Foil Newcomer of the Year accolades. Brian Kim (saber) was also a first Team Division III All-American, while Andrew Sledeski (foil) and Darren Yen (saber) earned Second Team honors.

On the women’s side, Polly Adler (foil), Anna Lanzman (epee) and Maria Stamos (foil) each received USFCA First Team Division III All-America honors while Stamos was also named Division III Foil Athlete of the Year. Sophia Dondisch (epee) was a Second Team All-American and Leeanne Chan received Honorable Mention.

Currently the U.S. Women's Saber National Coach, Ochocki is responsible for managing the training and logistics of the Cadet, Junior and Senior U.S. Women's Saber programs.
Servings as the assistant saber coach at the University of Notre Dame from 2017-19, Ochocki's teams won the NCAA Championship in 2017 and 2018. He also served as an assistant coach at Stevens Institute of Technology from 2012-17. 

A 2012 graduate of Penn State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Recreation, Park, and Tourism Management, Ochocki is a former member of the Nittany Lions' fencing team. He won the 2009 and 2012 individual NCAA saber titles and was a member of Penn State's team champions in 2009 and 2010. A First Team All-American all four years, Ochocki served as a three-year team captain.  

As a member of the U.S. National Fencing Team, Ochocki was a seven-time National Champion. a bronze medalist at the 2010 Junior World Championships and won over 40 North America Cup medals.

A native of Clark, NJ, Ochocki resides in Colonia, NJ.
