The New York University men's and women's volleyball teams and the baseball team have earned academic honors for their achievements in the classroom.
The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced its academic awards on Thursday, with both the NYU men's and women's volleyball teams earning the Team Academic Award and the Team Academic Honor Roll. The AVCA Team Academic Award recognizes programs that maintained a team GPA of at least 3.3 throughout the 2025-26 academic year. The AVCA Team Academic Honor Roll is awarded to programs whose GPAs rank in the top 20 percent for their division.
The academic honors come on the heels of successful 2025-26 seasons for both volleyball programs, as earns berths to their respective NCAA Division III Tournaments. The men's team went 19-7 overall, while the women's team posted a 19-12 record.
The baseball team also received recognition, being awarded the Team Academic Excellence Award by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) for posting a cumulative team GPA of 3.0 or higher during the 2025-26 academic year. The academic honor caps a 2026 season in which the Violets went 13-21 and slugged 29 home runs, the third-highest in program history.
